Pharung Shipyard Co., Ltd, under Vinashin Group, is a cooperation project between Vietnam and Finland, has been established since 25th March, 1984 for repairing Vessels up to 16.000 DWT. Over 20 years of operation, approximately 1000 Vessels from countries worldwide such as: Russia, Germany, Greece, Korea, Singapore, etc… have been repaired with high quality at the shipyard.
The Company started joining newbuilding field for several years. The Company has delivered nearly ten Vessels with the deadweight from 6.500 to 12.500. This is the premise for the Company carrying out the Shipbuilding Contracts for Vessels with high technical specifications for export such as: 6.500 DWT Oil/ Chemical Tanker for Korean Owner, 34.000 DWT Bulk Carriers for England Owner being developed at our shipyard. Our quality management system ISO 9001 has been certified by DNV since 2000.
With the above achievement, Pharung Shipyard Co., Ltd has been awarded: the third class Independence Medal (2005), the first class Labour Medal (2004), the second class Labour Medal (1992), the third class Labour Medal (1987), five (5) emulation flags of our Government.
In 2003-4, an important landmark was seen in the development of Pha Rung Ship Repair Factory (Pha Rung Shipbuilding Company today), when the factory began to build vessels instead of just repairing them. Vinashin has allowed Pha Rung Ship Repair Yard to upgrade and expand its factory for the repair of 16,000 dwt vessels and construction of
35 000- 40 000 DWT vessels.
The Pha Rung yard constructed some bulk carrier vessels of 34 000 dwt for Graig Investments of the UK and a chemical tankers of 6 500 dwt and 13 000 dwt.
