Fisherman Tran Van Chau in Hai Chinh commune, Hai Hau district, Nam Dinh province on April 18th received a steel fishing vessel, coded Hai Au 02, from the Song Dao Shipbuilding Industry Joint Stock Company of the Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (SBIC).
The vessel, 25.46m long, 6.5m wide and 3.1m high, has 7 holds and can accommodate 8 fishermen fishing offshore in a maximum of 20 days. It can run 10 nautical miles per hour.
It is among the six different steel fishing vessels built by SBIC to serve fishermen in the North, the Central and the South.
The handover of the vessel was a SBIC’s landmark in implementing the project to replace wooden fishing vessels by steel ones while ensuring productivity and quality of seaproducts and safety for fishermen in offshore fishing grounds.
Earlier, the steel fishing vessel coded Hoang Anh 01, built by the Vietnam Shipbuilding Industry Group (Vinashin) was rented to fisherman Mai Thanh Van in Binh Chanh commune, Binh Son district, Quang Ngai Province by 5 to 7-year installments.
