Vietnamese and Russian representatives agreed to cooperate on several shipbuilding, engineering and light industry projects during the 17th session of the Russia-Vietnam Inter-Governmental Commission opened in the Russian city of Vladivostok on Saturday.
Russia’s shipbuilding joint stock company Sudoexport will build civilian ships and marine equipment for Vietnam, Russian news agency RIA Novosti reported.
Three light industry projects are to take place in the Primorsky Krai and the Moscow region, RIA Novosti quoted Russia’s Deputy Industry and Trade Minister Viktor Evtukhov as saying.
The previous session of the Russia-Vietnam Inter-Governmental Commission was held in October 2013 in Hanoi, where 17 cooperative agreements were signed the same year that bilateral trade hit US$3.9 billion, up 8.5 percent annually.
