The vessel, known as the VIJAS Research and Training Vessel, is the first of 180 tuna boats to be built for the central provinces of Binh Dinh, Phu Yen and Khanh Hoa.

The project has been organised by the Yanmar Company to lift fishermen’s incomes and develop a sustainable tuna fishing industry.

The Nha Trang Shipbuilding Co., Ltd under the Shipbuilding Industry Corporation ( SBIC) on July 2 delivered a modern steel fishing vessel to a fisherman in the central coastal province of Quang Ngai, under a programme to enhance capacity of the nation’s fishing fleet.

In the morning of 21st March, 2014 at the office of Petrovietnam (PVN), in the conference about Service and Procurement Management, Dung Quat Shipbuilding Industry Company Ltd. (DQS) signed the contract with Vietsovpetro for building 02 service ships (AHTS), 12000 HP.

Troms Offshore Supply AS, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tidewater Inc., has announced that Tidewater has entered into agreements to purchase two PSV Vard 08 vessels under construction, hulls no 791 and 792 at the Vard Vung Tau yard in Vietnam.

The vessels have a length overall of 81,70m and a breadth of 18,00m with a deck area of 830 m2.

The two ships will primarily be positioned for operations in the North Sea and arctic waters and will be managed by the Troms team in Norway. Delivery dates are expected in January and April 2015. Both sister ships are based on innovative environmentally friendly design and equipment and will be delivered with the class notation Clean Design.
